Infection Control

Our tailored Infection Control Consulting service supports dental and healthcare practices to meet the requirements of AS/NZS 5369:2023 for the reprocessing of reusable medical devices. We conduct a comprehensive review of your entire workflow, from chairside instrument handling and safe transport to cleaning, inspection, packaging, sterilisation, storage, and traceability. We assess risk classification, environmental controls, equipment suitability, and workflow design to ensure separation of clean and contaminated zones. Guidance includes validation of cleaning and sterilisation processes, monitoring systems, and documentation frameworks required under the standard. We also review staff competencies and provide practical recommendations to strengthen compliance and patient safety. The outcome is a clear, structured action plan tailored to your practice, helping you reduce risk, improve efficiency, and confidently demonstrate compliance with national best practice standards

On-site Training

Our structured In-House Infection Control Training delivers practical, evidence-based education aligned with AS/NZS 5369:2023. Designed specifically for dental and healthcare teams, this training focuses on real-world application of reprocessing standards. Topics include instrument classification, safe handling at point of use, validated cleaning methods (manual and automated), inspection and packaging requirements, steriliser loading principles, cycle selection, and routine monitoring using physical, chemical, and biological indicators. Participants learn correct release procedures, recordkeeping requirements, and traceability processes to ensure compliance and accountability. We also cover environmental considerations, workflow design, and quality assurance measures that support continuous improvement. Training is interactive and tailored to your practice layout and equipment, ensuring staff understand not only what to do, but why it matters. This approach builds confidence, strengthens compliance culture, and supports sustainable infection prevention practices.

Staff training and compliance monitoring

Our Infection Control Audit & Gap Review provides a detailed assessment of your current systems against the requirements of AS/NZS 5369:2023. We systematically examine policies, procedures, equipment validation records, steriliser performance testing, cleaning verification processes, and documentation practices. The audit reviews zoning, workflow separation, environmental conditions, and storage practices to ensure they align with best practice standards. We identify areas of non-conformance, documentation weaknesses, and operational risks that may impact patient safety or accreditation outcomes. Each finding is supported by clear references to the standard and practical recommendations for corrective action. You receive a structured report outlining priority areas, compliance status, and an achievable improvement roadmap. This service strengthens your evidence base, enhances accountability, and ensures your sterilisation and reprocessing systems are robust, defensible, and audit-ready.
